GloveBox Generated Auto ID Cards

GloveBox makes it easy to deliver auto ID cards and other policy documents directly to your clients through ClientHub. This article explains how auto ID cards are generated, common reasons they may not appear.

  • Auto ID Cards: How They’re Generated & Why They Might Be Missing

Auto ID cards are a key feature of GloveBox designed to let clients quickly access their proof of insurance for vehicles. But sometimes agencies find that an ID card was expected but didn’t generate. This article explains:

    • How auto ID cards are generated

    • Common reasons for missing ID cards

    • What AMS data GloveBox uses and how AMS + GloveBox sync

How Auto ID Cards Are Generated

GloveBox auto-ID cards are created using data pulled from your Agency Management System (AMS). For a successful auto ID card generation, the following must be true:

    1. Agency Address – A complete agency address must be filled out in HQ → Agency Details.

    2. Auto Policy / Line Type – The policy/line must be of automobile type (personal lines).

    3. Garaging Address – At least one vehicle must have a full garaging address (street, city, state, zip).

    4. Vehicle Information – At least one vehicle on the policy must have make, model, year, and VIN.

    5. NY Garaging Exception – Policies with a garaging address in New York will not generate auto ID cards.

    Current status:

    • Auto ID cards are supported for personal lines only.

    • Commercial lines ID card support is coming soon.

Supported AMS systems (for auto-ID cards on personal lines):

    • HawkSoft → already live

    • Epic → already live

    • AMS360 → coming very shortly

    • Other AMS systems with an API will be supported in future releases

What Data GloveBox Uses From Your AMS & How It Works

Here are key points about how GloveBox pulls in AMS data, what gets mapped, and how to keep your AMS records in sync to make auto ID cards and other features work smoothly.

    • GloveBox pulls in active client list / active policies from your AMS. If a policy isn’t marked active in your AMS, it will not show up in GloveBox. Conversely, if you see inactive policies in GloveBox, make sure they’re marked inactive in AMS. gbu.gloveboxapp.com

    • GloveBox gets named insured info (first & last names) from AMS. This appears in the clients list and in policy detail views. If client names are missing or generic (“Policyholder”), then the AMS record likely lacks those fields. gbu.gloveboxapp.com

    • Contact data (email and phone numbers) is mapped from the AMS. If either is missing in the AMS record, that contact field may be blank in GloveBox as well. gbu.gloveboxapp.com

    • Policy metadata (carrier, policy number, effective dates, policy type) are also pulled over for policies. These are used both to associate the policy with the client and to decide if an auto ID card can be generated. gbu.gloveboxapp.com

Common Reasons ID Cards Are Missing

If an auto ID card didn’t generate, here are common reasons:

Cause What to Check / Action
Missing agency address Verify that HQ → Agency Details has full address (street, city, state, zip)
Policy is not an auto/vehicle policy Confirm the policy’s line type is “automobile / auto / vehicle” in your AMS
No garaging address on vehicle Ensure the vehicle has full address details in the AMS (street, city, state, zip)
Vehicle missing key details Make sure at least one vehicle on the policy has make, model, year, and VIN
Garaging in New York If that vehicle is garaged in New York, the card will not generate under current rules
Contact or client name missing Make sure the AMS record includes named insured info and email/phone contact so GloveBox can match the client

    Key Takeaway

GloveBox auto ID cards depend heavily on complete and accurate policy and client data being present in your AMS. Ensuring:

    • The agency address is fully filled out

    • Policies are auto type

    • Vehicles have garaging address + make/model/year/VIN

    • AMS records include contact info

… are all essential steps to making sure ID cards generate correctly.

GloveBox continuously syncs with your AMS to pull over that data. Keeping AMS records clean helps the system deliver what your clients expect—and avoids missing ID cards.
