Defining the data relationship between GloveBox and a policyholder

GloveBox is a mobile and web application platform which is distributed through our independent agency clients. GlovebBox is also a (free of charge) mobile and web application that is available to any and all insurance consumers across the United States.

In the provided and agreed upon privacy policy (upon platform use) GloveBox establishes to the user.

The types of data addressed in the GloveBox policyholder relationship are as follows

  • Data that is manually created by the policyholder directly.
  • Data that is imported from a direct carrier connection, initiated by the policyholder.

The types of data NOT addressed in the GloveBox policyholder relationship are

  • Data that is manually created by an agency.
  • Data that is sent to GloveBox from a third party system (AMS system, CRM etc.), by an agency.

What types of data do we allow a policyholder to manually add to the platform?

  • Basic registration information such as first and last name, email address and mobile phone number.
  • Basic insurance carrier information such as carrier and policy type.
  • Insurance coverage information in relation to a policy such as coverage limits, subjects of coverage and policy effective dates.

What types of analytics does GloveBox collect on a policyholder in the platform?

  • Usage analytics
    • Type of device when using the platform (iOS, Android, web).
    • Frequency of use.
    • Executed tasks.

Does GloveBox share collected analytics with any 3rd party vendors outside the scope of platform performance?

GloveBox does not share collected analytics with any 3rd party vendors that aren’t directly tied to delivering platform performance.

  • One example is Mixpanel, which is a data visualization software used internally at GloveBox.

How does GloveBox use data that is provided by a policyholder in the platform?

GloveBox DOES NOT allow any third party to access policyholder-provided data that is outside the scope of providing the stated platform functionalities.

  • Management of insurance portfolio.
  • Management of relationship with agent (if applicable).

What third party does GloveBox currently share policyholder provided data to?

GloveBox currently shares data provided by a policyholder, with an agency partner when applicable.

What types of data may be shared with an agent?

  • Data that is manually created by the user directly.
  • Data that is imported from a direct carrier connection, initiated by the user.

An example of this would be a policyholder that has successfully connected a policy with a carrier via Active Policy Monitoring, however this policy isn’t managed by the agent. Thus the agent would have access to the policyholder’s data for this policy.

What happens to policyholder-provided data if the agency were to cancel their GloveBox service?

This data provided by the policyholder would remain in the platform and and still be available under the capabilities of a free user with no agent association.

What rights does the policyholder have in removing their data and closing their account with GloveBox?

GloveBox abides by state and federal laws when it comes to data protection and privacy. All iOS and Android requirements are fully met with regards to consumer data rights.

GloveBox allows a policyholder to request the complete erasure and removal of their data resulting in complete shutdown of their account.

  • Upon receiving this request, GloveBox promptly complies by removing all policyholder-provided data and shutting down the account.

GloveBox is here to serve the insurance community with the highest levels of integrity, security and privacy. If you have any questions about policyholder data handling, please reach out to your GloveBox agency success manager or email us at support@gloveboxapp.com
