How to Update Your DNS Records for Your White-Labeled App
What is a DNS Record?
A DNS (Domain Name System) record is a setting that tells the internet where to send traffic for your domain and connected services. For example, a CNAME record can direct traffic for a subdomain to a specific server or service.
How to Update Your DNS Records
- Log into your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, Bluehost, Cloudflare).
- Locate the DNS Settings, DNS Management, or Zone File Settings section.
- Add or edit the records as provided in your setup email.
- Save your changes.
If you’re unsure:
- Go to ChatGPT and ask, “How do I update DNS records in [Your Domain Provider]?”
- Or search your provider’s help center for “Update DNS Records.”

What is DNS?
DNS (Domain Name System) is like the internet's phone book. When someone types your domain name (like clients.agencyname.com) into their browser, DNS translates that human-readable domain name into the IP address of the server that hosts your website or application.
DNS records are instructions that tell the internet where to find different services for your domain. Think of them as forwarding addresses:
- CNAME records act like forwarding addresses, telling browsers "when someone asks for this domain, send them to this other address instead"
- Validation records (like the ones below) are special temporary records that prove you own the domain, similar to how you might need to verify your identity when setting up a new service
When you add the DNS records below, you are:
- Proving to us that you own the domain (validation records)
- Telling the internet to send visitors of your domain to the GloveBox platform (CNAME record)
Your DNS records are managed through your domain registrar (where you purchased your domain) or your DNS hosting provider. Common providers include GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, and many others.
Note: Some DNS providers may not support CNAME records at the root domain (apex domain). In such cases, you may need to:
- Use an ALIAS or ANAME record type if your provider supports it
- Contact your DNS provider's support for the recommended approach
- Consider using a subdomain instead of the root domain

*It may take several hours for DNS changes to propagate on the web. If changes still fail to propagate after two business days, Please contact the GloveBox team.
