What Will Disappear When I Move from the AMS to the CRM?
When transitioning from an Agency Management System (AMS) to GloveBoxCRM, it’s important to understand that certain AMS-specific features will no longer be available. This article explains why and highlights which functions will disappear during the move.
Why AMS Features Are Going Away
An AMS is traditionally a system of record, designed to connect directly to carriers through IVANS, the industry’s data pipeline, and generates ACORD forms, the standardized documents used across the insurance industry.
While powerful, AMS tools were built to manage data, not client engagement. GloveBoxCRM's original purpose was different—to be a system of action, focusing on sales, service, and client experience. This shift back to our roots as a CRM means AMS functions will no longer be available. We're focusing our efforts to make your sales and service as easy as possible.
Key Features That Will Disappear
1. IVANS Downloads
-
Automatic downloads of policy data, renewals, cancellations, and non-renewals
-
Automatic commission downloads
-
Automatic claims data feeds
Note: IVANS only delivers data to one system at a time. Once you move to GloveBoxCRM, IVANS downloads will no longer feed directly into your platform.
2. Deep Policy Data Management
-
Full sets of downloaded coverages (vehicles, drivers, locations, etc.)
-
The ability to view and manage policy-level details at the depth an AMS provides
GloveBoxCRM will focus on high-level policy data that supports workflows, not the exhaustive policy record.
3. ACORD Forms
-
The ability to generate ACORD applications and forms directly in the platform
While some elements may remain temporarily, ACORD generation is considered an AMS function and may be removed as the CRM evolves.
4. AMS-Specific Automation
-
Renewal updates triggered by IVANS transactions
-
Automatic population of coverage and premium details
-
Automated creation of claims from carrier data
These AMS-driven automations will not carry over into the CRM.
What Stays (and Improves)
Even though some AMS features disappear, GloveBoxCRM strengthens your agency in other ways:
-
Sales & Service Pipelines: Customizable workflows for opportunities, renewals, and service requests
-
Client Engagement: Integrated with GloveBox’s client-facing portal and mobile app
-
Flexibility: Tools for managing commissions, tracking contacts, and driving revenue
-
Future-Proofing: A platform designed around client experience, not carrier-driven data silos
The Bottom Line
When you move from an AMS to GloveBoxCRM, you leave behind certain carrier download and form-generation tools. But you gain a CRM built for today’s client expectations—streamlining operations, driving growth, and creating a better experience for both your staff and your policyholders.
