Setting Up Your Better Agency Account

Welcome to Better Agency! Follow these step-by-step instructions to set up your account and ensure everything is ready to get started.

Video Walkthrough (Steps 1 - 5):

Step 1: Edit Your Agency Information

  1. Click your name in the upper-right corner of the dashboard.
  2. Select Edit Agency from the dropdown menu.
  3. Confirm and update your agency details:
    • Company Name
    • Street Address
    • Time Zone
    • Calendly Link (if applicable)
  4. Upload your agency logo:
    • Click Choose Logo, select your file, and upload.
  5. Once all details are updated, click Update to save changes.

Step 2: Customize Agency Settings

  1. Navigate to the Customizations tab.
  2. Set your agency’s Annual Premium Goal:
    • Enter the amount of new business you want to write in the next 12 months.
  3. Enable Commercial Policies if your agency handles commercial lines:
    • Check the box if applicable.
  4. Add your Video Proposal Link:
    • If using quote or proposal tools like Better Agency’s QuoteVids, enter the default link here.
    • If unsure, contact support for assistance.
  5. Scroll down and click Update to save these settings.

Step 3: Sync Google My Business

  1. Click Sync Google My Business.
  2. Sign in to your Google My Business account and follow the prompts to connect.
  3. Once synced, the link will automatically appear in your settings.
    • This integration supports automated Google review campaigns.

Step 4: Set Your Service Email

  1. Add your Service Email:
    • Enter the email address where clients can send inquiries.
  2. Click Sync Email:
    • Emails received at this address will create tickets in the Service Center pipeline for streamlined tracking.

Step 5: Renewal Communication Settings

  1. Adjust the renewal communication timeline:
    • By default, this is set to 60 days before renewal and will increase rates by 10% as renewals approach.
  2. Choose the trigger policy for renewal notifications:
    • Default is set to Contact Early, but you can modify this based on your preferences.
  3. Once complete, click Update to save your changes.

Step 6: TCR Compliance Setup

TCR (The Campaign Registry) compliance is necessary for registering the phone number you use for business texting.

  1. Access TCR Registration:

    • Click your name in the upper-right corner and select Edit Agency.
    • Go to the TCR Registration tab.
  2. Submit Brand Information:

    • Fill out the form with details such as:
      • Agency Name
      • EIN (Employer Identification Number)
      • Business Type
    • Use the pre-built description provided or edit it to accurately reflect your practices (e.g., opt-out methods, verbal consent collection).
  3. Agree to the Fee:

    • A one-time $20 fee will be charged to your account to register with The Campaign Registry.
  4. Submit for Approval:

    • Click Submit to begin the brand approval process.
    • Brand approval typically takes 1–2 days. After that, individual account registration takes an additional 1–2 days.
  5. Start Texting:

    • Once approved, you can begin texting directly from the Better Agency platform.

By completing these steps, your Better Agency account will be fully set up and TCR-compliant, ensuring a smooth and professional texting experience.
